Types of Snow Blowers
The right snow blower or snow thrower makes removing snow an easy task. Investing in one will also help eliminate risk of physical injury that comes with using a shovel. Choosing the right snowblower will depend on how much snow you get in your area and how powerful you need it to be.
Gas Snow Blower - Gas snow blowers provide plenty of power and are ideal for clearing heavy snow. Although gas snow blowers can be more of an investment and require maintenance, they will provide greater power in clearing heavy snow.
Electric Snow Blower - Electric snow blowers are great for light snow conditions and small areas. These lightweight machines are commonly used on decks, porches and pathways where larger models don’t fit. They are available in either corded or battery-operated models and are virtually maintenance free.
Cordless Snow Blowers - Cordless snowblowers offer additional maneuverability without the hassle of gas or a cord model and use brushless motor technology with high capacity Lithium-ion batteries. Cordless snow blowers are also good for light to moderate snowfalls.
Single-Stage Snow Blowers - Single-Stage snow blowers use a rubber bladed snow auger to throw snow. These work well for light to medium non-icy snowfalls on small to medium properties.
Dual-Stage Snow Blowers - Two-stage snow blowers are designed to manage heavy & hard-packed snow and can also plough through and clear snow from non-paved areas.
Three-Stage Snow Blowers - are perfect for large areas and can tackle large and heavy snowfalls. They have all the capabilities of a two-stage unit but are also designed to get the job done faster.
