5 STEPS
Inflatables are a great way to have some serious fun on the water. These are outdoor items, though, so some normal wear is expected. But if you take proper care of them and stay on top of any repairs, they’ll last you a long time.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Step
Follow the directions
Always follow the manufacturer’s instructions to assemble and inflate.
Step
Dry thoroughly before deflating
When you’re done, drain all the water from your wet inflatable, but keep it inflated until it’s completely dry.
Step
Deflate completely before storing
Ensure all the air has been removed before you fold your inflatable for storage. To evacuate the air quickly, walk around on it. Then fold all the pieces inward and compress the fabric as you roll it up tightly to expel any remaining air.
Step
Patch leaks when it’s dry and deflated
If you need to patch a leak, do so while it’s deflated. Clean and dry the area you need to patch, then cut a patch from the material in the provided patch kit. Be sure to cut the patch with rounded corners. Apply the patch to the inflatable and smooth out any bubbles. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes before inflating for use. Additional patch kits can be purchased from the manufacturer.
Step
Store indoors during the winter
When the seasons change and it’s time to put your inflatable into storage, find an indoor location, such as a garage, to protect it from extreme conditions.
